one good thing about this deep note is that it shows the audience what the current sound system is capable of doing in terms of the frequency range because the sound system demonstrates you the deep bass. It also prepares you to the volume level.

My parents have surroundsound speakers at their house, my dad used to CRANK the volume when this came on at the beginning of movies. The whole entire house would shake, and my mom and I would scream at him to stop 😂😂. He doesn't do it anymore for obvious reasons.

My daughter has autism and she is OBSESSED with listening to this sound over and over again. It’s relaxing to her for some reason so this is in the background of my life everyday 😂🎶

I love the THX Deep Note, it's one of the best and recognizable sounds I've ever heard!!! The newer version sounds MUCH cooler. :)

The 40th Anniversary of THX really deserves me as I never forget of that Deep Note as he composed it the most important chime that the audience heard back in 1983…

I love the sound.
As it peaks at full volume, you can't help but grin like a high teenager as the deep bass moves through your entire body.

As a little kid, I would call this " scary letters ! " My parents would have to fast forward through movies when we watched them at home .. but now that I'm much older I find it nostalgic and interesting ^^

I was so scared of this sound during my childhood that I still just naturally get intensely nervous chills every time I hear it.

I absolutely love the history of this particular note. I still remember back in the days everyone stayed so quiet when the THX intro came on. Marvelous!

Remember trying to set up a movie in the middle of the night while everyone sleeps and forgetting to turn the volume down first. Lol now that's a crescendo

I am 44 years old. I still remember to this day the first time I heard the THX Deep Note before a movie. I don't remember what movie it was for. It was sometime in the mid 80's. And it changed my life. I almost, not totally, but almost didn't care about the movie coming up. I wanted to hear that again. Over the years I remember hearing it referred to as the THZ zoom or air raid. I am just now finding out that it is called the deep note. All that aside, to this day, I still get excited when that comes on. It is transcendent, and will always be one of the coolest sounds I have ever heard in my life.

When I was a kid I played this in the middle of the night on full blast on my living room tv and ran straight to my room. Let’s just say my parents weren’t too happy
