Issues addressed in this tutorial:

Does your Windows 10 computer freeze too often at startup and issue a stop code 0x0000034 BCD? Some Windows 10 users experience this problem when the operating system fails to boot. When a blue screen of death problem occurs, you see the message:

Recovery, your computer or device must be restored: “Some necessary information is missing in the boot configuration data file, file: \ BCD, error code: 0xc0000034”.

First, it should be understood that BCD stands for boot configuration data. The most common cause of this error is damaged, improperly configured, or missing loader files. And this can happen due to power failures, write errors, boot sector viruses. Sometimes bootloader files also become damaged when you configure them manually. Let’s look at how to fix a simple BCD problem with error code 0xc0000034 for Windows 10 with a simple solution.

You have Windows 10 on your laptop. It was there yesterday. But now, when you turn on your computer, you're greeted with error code 0xc0000034, "The Boot Configuration Data file is missing."

The good news is that your data isn't lost, and you can get it all back (we'll show you how). The bad news is that you'll have to do a little work to restore that missing file. Here's how to fix a 'configuration data file' boot error in Windows 10.

If you've got the blue screen of death with an error code of 0xc0000034, it can be pretty scary but here's a solution I have tested and found to work to get Windows to boot without losing any data.

First, you'll need a DVD or USB stick containing Windows installation media. You can download a utility from Microsoft here that will create that for you. Next, follow these steps:

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).

Sorry to bother you. My pc was a windows 8.1 which I updated as soon as w10 was out, when they gave access to w10 to whoever had w7 o w8.1 for free. I followed all your passages here but nothing happened. If I go back to a previous version, will I go back to w8.1 or to a previous version of w10? Moreover, will I lose personal data by doing so?
