How to get "post-conviction relief" to avoid immigration consequences such as deportation, removal, and denial of naturalization?

Often a criminal conviction can trigger not just fines and jail time -- but these immigration law ramifications as well. Fortunately, there are a number of avenues a criminal / immigration attorney can pursue to negate a criminal conviction even after the fact.

These include (1) re-sentencing to make the sentence on a aggravated felony less than one year; (2) reducing a felony to a misdemeanor; (3) a motion to vacate the judgment because of ineffective assistance of counsel; (4) a motion to withdraw a guilty or "no contest" plea, and (5) a habeas corpus petition.

In this video, a former Los Angeles deputy district attorney -- now a California criminal defense lawyer -- explains these 5 forms of post conviction relief.

Most relief regarding the reduce sentences mentioned are likely imposible due to procedural hurdles. The only relief that I see likely is the one regarding ineffective assistance of counsel in light of Pandilla vs Kentucky. You should stop running this gimmick ads.
