It was also enraging because for years well-compensated professional television news anchors have failed to execute interviews half as effective as Swan's.
Bill Hemmer. Bret Baier. David Muir. Chuck Todd.
Each of those anchors have had their opportunities to sit down with the President. But none of them produced an interview as revealing as the one that aired Monday on "Axios on HBO."

As an Australian I’m extremely proud Jonathan Swan for doing what all journalists should be doing by asking follow up questions and not letting him getting away with “a lot of people say....” by asking “who says?”.

Lol, Jonathon's father is a doctor who does a daily coronavirus podcast with worldwide following. Dr Norman Swan works for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC public television = most trusted institution in Australia) and does the Coronacast podcast each day as well as investigative health reporting and a weekly program called The Health Report. I reckon Jonathan growing up in a medical household with an award winning health reporter father would predispose him to knowing what he's talking about.

Fun fact... Jonathan Swan is the son of one of Australia's most well-respected medical journalists, Norman Swan. Norman and his colleague, Tegan Taylor have been recording a daily podcast about the pandemic situation in Australia since the very beginning.
