For the first time in my life, after years of doodling about on my old guitar, I finally understand what secondary dominants are, Gracie. Thank you so much. You are a treasure house of music theory that even this philistine can understand.

Whatever you do, don't look at the description box. This chick is the Queen Of Rabbitholes. Every video links 2 more, which links 3 more. Pretty soon, you're old.

Great teaching! I am a fairly new student. So, pardon my question. If you say, ii V I chords, are you saying that they are played in that particular order? Or you just saying the chords that are involved and not necessarily the order in which they are played?

Thank you for all the great work you do for us.

So I guess an easy way to remember this is make the 2 in a ii-V-I chord progression major (in the key you are playing in) so it becomes II-V-I? Cool! I can remember that 😊. And I can do that on the fly rather quick since I am currently practicing this chord progression in all keys. Thanks Gracie for making what would normally be a complicated subject simple. I don’t think I would have realized this without watching your video. At least not as soon as I did. Really love your videos and the way you make theory interesting and easy to understand.

Really nice video! I've just realized that the dominant of the dominant is a whole step above the root (C --> D7, G --> A7, ...), seems an easy trick to find them quickly :)
