Refinishing 100 Year Old Hardwood Floors | Dining Room Renovation Part 5

We finally finished hanging the wallpaper in the dining room and started to prep the hardwood floors to be sealed. We sealed the original farmhouse wood floors using polyurethane for floors in a satin finish. I did four coats to ensure it was thoroughly sealed.

Wow this brought back memories from when we renovated our old farmhouse. All the floors were painted gray or red. We love the marks from the wood stoves. Ours was started in 1908 and finished in 1910. You’ve both worked so hard anyone whose done this knows. You’re doing a great job, God Bless you both.

Sooo beautiful!!! It looks great! One idea for the doors, if you’re going to paint the baseboards then paint your trim and the doors to match. If you stain your baseboards then do the same with your doors. It will tie the woodwork all together.

The floors look SO Good! I love the way they turned out. I used the satin finish on wood floors, in a house I had years ago; they held up beautifully. I lived there 15 years with a dog, cats and a husband with boots and they stood the test of time. Gloss finish, shows every tiny scratch, would not recommend. Now we can see how you're going to furnish the room - excited!
