Yankee fan here I’m a bit heartbroken but not going sit here n be salty like some of my co Yankee fans congrats to the Mets excited for Soto and the Mets you guys deserve it. At the end of the day you have to understand we’ve been on top for so long I’ve never hated the Mets nor felt that much pity but I’ve felt that they deserve to win also I’m a bit disappointed in my fan base a little more class won’t hurt anyone I’m grateful for the year Soto had with us and at the end of the day it’s baseball it isn’t the end of the world anything can happen.

It was the perfect storm of circumstances. One of the top hitters in baseball becoming a free agent after serving as a mercenary for a season with the Yankees. He was chasing one thing, the bucks, nothing else mattered, with a team owner having deep pockets, not in any way intimidated by the Yankees legacy. He was willing to spend whatever it took to sign the player, willing to out-bid any offer the Yankees or anyone else would present. So the player choose the highest bid, nothing overly surprising there, Soto let us all know his only allegiance was to himself and the $. Cohen showed him the money and Soto Followed that Carrot.
