This interview was a fun one! As a type 9, I merged with his energy and we had a blast! Alan brought amazing insight to the type 7.

Alan sounds like a 7w6. It would be interesting to see you interview a 7w8, and the differences there between the two. (I think my hubby is a 7w8... but a bit more on the 'thinking /more emotionally distant side - more time for work and projects than for relationships, as it were. He is very ambitious with tons of energy and gets many things done... but tends to underestimate how long each thing 'should take'... leaving him a bit frustrated at what wasted his time compared with his list of goals that day.) Alan loves what he does and that shows, but a 7 that isn't doing what they really want ( but cannot for various reasons) can go moody 😒(my word). My hubby gets a ton of things done when he has a day off and is the same 'bouncing off the wall ball of energy' ( in my view) that I can reflect and merge into as a 9w1... but I am also VERY glad when he goes back to work so that I can settle back into my own slower rhythm and work pace! 😉 Yes - give them freedom to do things when and if they want to ( without any expectations on my part.) This is too funny for me to watch... it is like watching hubby and his younger brother. (My bro-in-law is similar to Alan and also wears those kinds of shirts... must be a 7w6!) 😂 Hook them up to a power plant to harness all of that energy!

I’m an INFJ enneagram enneagram 7 and I relate to all enneagram 7 traits EXCEPT the super outgoing and extroverted part. Is it possible to be a big introvert and more low-key in my energy but still pursuing experiences alone and being cheerful and optimistic regardless?

This is my pastor, team mate and friend...I am a type 6 to his type 7 and it is so much fun. People ask “you must laugh all the time on his team?” Yes. Yes we do 😂 but what I also appreciate is how he is THE most life giving person you will ever meet. Everyone needs a type 7 like Alan in their life!! Trust me, you won’t regret it!
