If I remember correctly, to unlock the Sharingan, you have to feel a very strong negative emotion. For the Mangekyo Sharingan, you have to lose someone that is very important to you.
For Sarada however, the conditions are different as she unlocked the Sharingan out of sheer joy at the chance of meeting her father. So rather than losing someone, it's more of realizing how much pain someone close to you will suffer. Realizing that Boruto is now an enemy of the village he grew up in, is accused of killing his own father and now having to fight his friends to survive broke Sarada

I'll say this. Strong intense emotions awaken the dojutsu..it was long mentioned the clan had technically been manipulated into believing hatred was the only emotion too feel. Alot are dising the awakening of her ms because lack of pain or maybe just wasnt rhe right moment.

I think what would have been epic in Sarada's case since she is the daughter of Indras incarnation, she should have a special Sharingan that is not red like the rest, but a nice royal blue with special features different than the red eye caused by pain and hate. Having a Blue unique sharingan with infinite Izanami and Izanagi. Along with a bad ass susano.
