The fact that you teach in a method that makes even the kids understand it well is amazing

Continue doing what you're doing

Thank you Josh for explaing fuel consumption. Recently I found out that there are two types of gallons. The English gallon and the U.S gallon. I remember the English gallon is more in quantity then the U.S gallon when converting to litres. In future you may put this in a tecmath video.

Fuel consumption is the opposite of mileage.
Mileage - The amount of distance you can travel using a fixed amount of fuel.
Consumption - The amount of fuel it takes to travel a fixed amount of distance.
For mileage you want the number higher. For consumption you want the number lower.

Basically, you flip the fraction upside-down to go from one to the other.
They purposely use different units (miles, gallons, liters, 100 kilometers) to make it look like mileage and consumption are two different things.
Also if consumption used straight-up kilometers, the result would be a weird decimal.
8.8 l/100km would become 0.088 l/km.

If they did this more like mileage (kilometrage?) it would be 11.4 km/l.
8.8 l = 2.32 gallons
100 km = 62.1 miles
This would equate to almost 28 mpg.

I personally like mileage better because it's more apples to apples.
You're driving 55 miles per hour, and getting 28 miles per gallon. Everything is "miles per".
With consumption, you're driving 88 km/h and using 8.8 l per every 100 km. The math flips when you try to compare them. Metric is supposed to make the math easier.
I suppose if you're used to it though...

Good morning Josh (from Eire ☘️) and thank you for these great videos. You make math easy and enjoyable to learn, something that never happened in our school (about 100 years ago)
Appreciate your videos very much 👍

Fuel consumption is easy.
You take a fuel jug, put it in your mouth
And congratulations! You just consumed fuel

Very useful, I find myself using online converters as often my UK motorcycle's fuel consumption is in km/100. I think in mpg so have to convert to make comparisons etc. My bike returns on average 69 mpg or 4.1 litres per 100 km. I struggle to to these calculations in my head hence watching your video!

The actual conversion factor between Litres and Imperial gallons is 4.54609 litres per gallon. Sad person that I am, but spent 45 years on logistics !

Should be "What is its fuel consumption?" not What is it's fuel consumption?" ... thanks for the video. All the best.
