🎥: Bunnie XO's Dumb Blonde Podcast mgk episode
📝: During a recent interview with Dumb Blonde Podcast, mgk talked about his daughter, father, sobriety, and rehab. mgk said: "my daughter is a wise oak tree. my life changed. I'll never forget the first breath she took. she came out and she wasn't breathing. the doctor tapped her chest or something like that. and she did the like, man when she took that first breath, tears like Niagara Falls started coming and I fell in love. and that was really the first person I ever loved. I'm completely sober from everything. I don't drink anymore. I haven't drank since last August. I went to rehab right when we got off the European tour last year. that was my first time I ever went to rehab. one of the biggest things that me in that relationship was when she would be like that, "dad, I know when you're." that is like the ultimate sign of disappointment in yourself. I just been really happy seeing everybody. I'm really happy that when I'm clear, when my daughter and I are having our conversations and I'm coming from a place of being centered and holding space for what a child needs from their parent, which is patience and advice that doesn't come from like I just wanna get through this so I can go and satiate this demon in me. that's been a huge reward for me." When Bunnie XO asked "coming from what you grew up in to who you are now and who the father that you are to Casie, can you ever just look at yourself and be like yeah, I did do that?" mgk said "I could be a better father. I hope that I'll always be someone that she can depend on and lean on and love. I guess I'm just so scared because I know how my relationship with my parents was. I was so mad at my dad up until the last moments of his life. I'm so in love with her that I'm scared, you know you don't ever wanna like disappoint. it's not for me to give myself any flowers. that's for her to decide if I did a good job or not." mgk the dad of the year. this interview is so wholesome.
