Показать описание
Apache Arrow Flight SQL is a universal standard for high performance data transfers from databases. It is a building block that solves the problems associated with ODBC and JDBC, which are not sufficient in today's data world. Arrow Flight SQL provides the ability to take advantage of increased performance with no application changes, thanks to universal ODBC and JDBC drivers built on it.

Data lakehouses, data warehouses, and data lakes are complex systems that require efficient data transfers from databases in order to operate properly. Apache Arrow Flight SQL helps to ensure that these transfers happen quickly and smoothly. It allows for improved scalability and performance when transferring data between different systems, making it an invaluable tool for any organization that uses a data lakehouse, data warehouse, or data lake engine.

Jason Hughes is a technical reviewer of Matt's book who covers why ODBC & JDBC don't cut it in today's world and how Arrow, Arrow Flight, and Arrow Flight SQL can solve these problems. By providing an overview of these building blocks as well as universal ODBC & JDBC drivers built on Arrow Flight SQL, Jason Hughes explains how this technology can be used to make high performance data transfers possible without any application changes required.

What algorithm calculates in real time the maximum size of columnar data that can be included without exceeding the Layer 2 MTU (that the process can’t verify)? Oh and it needs to ensure the compression metadata doesn’t blow the MTU stack bc that would be a sad, sad Ethernet frame.
