Great info! I was injured by an unattended child in a restaurant 2 nights before the 2022 Marathon… I attempted to run anyways, but only made it 8.7 miles. Just got in for the 2023 Marathon a few weeks ago! Now Dopey 2024 is on my calendar!!!

Great advice Matt! I barely completed the dopey challenge in 2018. I agree the temp change is real, it was very cold, caught a lot of us by surprise. The right socks, body glide and the right running shoes are critical. Also train for the multiple day back to back runs. Dopey's multiple day runs will wear you out. Also stay out of your head, if it's not positive 😂. I saw so many give up a mile from the finish.

Thanks for sharing. I have run Chicago from one of the later corrals and people do not generally sit down waiting for the race to start. I was surprised by your concern about how long people are standing. I thought that was just an expected part of the race experience.

Great info. i completed the WDW Half a few weeks ago for my tenth time. Having just turned 70, I'm not sure I'll do it again. It's pretty repetitive. I wish Disney would change something a little to keep our interest up. These are all good tips and very factual. (The overpasses on a crowded field feel like you're climbing Mt Everest with 22, 000 of your closest friends!)

Good tips!
5:05 Regarding the "hills" (overpasses 😁) - they aren't high or long but can be steep sometimes but the worst this is the camber on the turns so your foot never strikes flat. Late in the race, that can really drain a runner.

Thank you for sharing as I found this information very helpful for my first upcoming food and wine half marathon at Disney! Appreciate it!

Excellent take - especially dealing with either narrow path or blocked access - everyone just chill.

I've never run the full marathon, but I've run the 5k and 10k Disney races and can confirm your last tip is key! Train in the clothes / shoes / socks / hats / etc... you plan to use for the actual race. Even if you don't do it for every training run, make sure you have tested all your "new gear" with at least one long run before you arrive at the "real thing." Also a follow-up tip on corrals: while sitting or stretching in corrals is a good way to conserve energy while you wait (for up to two hours!) for your group to start the race, the best corral advice I have found is to arrive early and work your way as close as possible to the front of your corral. There's at least 20 minutes difference between the 1st sub-group in the corral and the last sub-group in that corral and those 20 extra minutes could be the difference between you getting to finish you race on foot or on the bus. Be safe, have fun, after all it's a Disney run!

Thank You.
I did not start running till 7am at Princess 2020. My back hurt waiting. Also it takes hours to get out of the parking lot. Do not plan leave town till afternoon at the earliest. Very different from Disneyland.

Thanks for the tips! I did the half in 2024 and now I’m planning on doing the full in 2026. I did my first marathon last October in under 4 hours with an elevation gain of over 1k ft! Do you have any good training plans to follow besides the official Disney plan

When you said Disney marathon, I thought you meant the marathon and disaster you have to do at Disney World! 😂😂 Never again. I’m only going to Universal Studios in the future

By cold do you mean 20 degrees with ice on the roads?

Great video. Thanks.
Another trick is to put Vaseline on your nipples. Chafed nipples are the worst

"multiple miles extra" by running around slower walkers/runners? C'mon man! Perhaps a few dozen extra yards....maybe a hundred extra yards, bur certainly not a mile, much less "multiple miles."
