1. Don't come here in winter. It looks nothing like what is shown in this video. We rarely have any snow - and when we do we have it for like a week, then it turns into slush and ice.
2. They sort of give the impression that the museums in Gothenburg are fairly close by, but they ain't, you most likely want to rent a car if you want to visit the Aeroseum, for example.
3. Slottskogen is the biggest park in the city, but Änggårdsbergen is definitely worth visiting if you want to go for a hike or even do some trail running. It's 10 minutes south of Slottskogen.
4. There's no "Midsummer festival" in Gothenburg. There's an event in Slottskogen on Midsommar that lasts for a couple of hours, but that's it, most of us go visit friends and family. So what you see in these clips are from private gatherings, not some "festival".
5. Gothenburg is an industrial city with a botched historical architecture — so if you're looking for "views", go to Stockholm. They've preserved more historical buildings than Gothenburg.

Gothenburg is at Kattegatt, not the Baltic sea!

I'm an American expat and have been living in Hisingen, Göteborg (Gothenburg) since June 2011. Lol. You are killin me with the pronunciation, it's all good though. A little FYI trivia Gothenburg is referred to as "Little London" due to the fact it rains more here than London. In my opinion only best time to visit is between May and August or at the earliest April 30 which we celebrate Valborg with big bon fires in the park and music and food.

I lived there for 3 months, I didn't want to leave. I would have given up everything at home to live in Gothenburg, but it was not doable. Slowly working my way towards it.

We are on the way to Gothenburg next wednesday. My brother lives there since the 80s and we come for holdidays sice many years.
He also has a house near Mellerud, about 150km direktion north, and from there we made trips to many cities of south sweden and norway.
Also to Oslo, the Geiranger Fjord or Lillehammer.

If you'd asked me on the street for directions to any of the places you talked about i wouldnt have been able to guess any of em XD. Nice video though, fun to hear about my city. And also, i know people have a hard time getting to know us but that's because people try to catch us during our normal routines of life. The best time to meet us and get to know us is when we're not focusing on work and everyday life. Talk to us when we're relaxing, when we're out on fikas or out socialising. We are actually a very friendly and social people.

Man, the city looks super cool. I'd like to go to that part of the world at least once to get a feel for how people live there, how the culture is like.
