Planetside 2: Scythe Air Combat

A series of clips in Planetside 2 containing air to air combat with 1 or 2 good dog fights. The loadout I fly with is visible at the end of the video.

Quite so. The clear canopy for the Scythe is an advantage for sure.

Nor would I, which is why it is titled "Scythe Air Combat" instead of "Scythe Dogfighting Video." Also, as noted in the description, this video only contains 1 or 2 dogfights. The rest of the video is just your basic air to air combat.

I have spent many hours just flying around in the warp gate and over friendly territory practicing maneuvers and tweaking sensitivity. Learning how to hit targets just required going out and getting killed a lot.

So my advice is just practice, practice, practice. :)

Lots and lots of practice, I'm sure. A bit of advice: Don't try to engage at the ranges that Micah here is, he seems to engage pretty far out because he's really good at leading, but with the turbo-laser especially usually to make a kill more certain, hold off on firing, follow a guy for a while, get up close and /then/ open fire so you don't scare him into taking evasive maneuvers while he's still far out and has a chance of getting away from you.
