"I dont want to believe. I want to know." Love that quote!

I love how Lex thinks more about how science interacts with common people instead of just thinking about the science itself, like what he said about riding the wave of people's interest in the topic. He has a much more humane view than the average scientist.

I mean, would you not be pissed if you spent all of your life looking at the stars, and sending radio signals only to find out that aliens have been flying around some deserts the whole time.

She's expressing resistance to lex's observation about how scientists have a tendency to be resistant and close minded. She proved his point.

*The best scientists are the ones that entertain EVERY possibility by knowing that we have limitations as observers*

I appreciate this take. Everyone else just says “Universe BIG, Aliens PROBABLE.”

Please bring James Fox. He’s possibly the most knowledgeable journalist on this topic outside of Leslie.

While I can respect the response of getting people to think a certain way about these things, it would have been a much more interesting response to talk about the ways in which they investigate things like this. I know she said they don't, but it would have been great to get her two cents about some of the details and things they look for.

It is very naive that that any advanced civilization would use radio waves as a means of interstellar communication.

I feel that it’s almost opposite of what she’s saying. I think it’s the folklore that’s kept this subject alive.
