More than 700 climate change activists blocking roads at some of London’s most famous landmarks have been arrested over the last six days, police said on Saturday, up from a total given on Friday of more than 682.

The protests, organized by climate group Extinction Rebellion, have for several days disrupted travel through parts of central London, including at Oxford Circus, Marble Arch and Waterloo Bridge.

Extinction Rebellion has called for non-violent civil disobedience to force the British government to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2025 and stop what it calls a global climate crisis.

They disrupt everyone there and act like they speak for everyone. I don’t think so.

I'm feel like I'm the middle of everything when it comes to climate change. Personally I'm really concerned about it and I try to turn the lights off after a certain time and when I'm old enough to get my own apartment I would like to find a way to install solar panels or perhaps get an electric car if I may need a car at all. But then I hear how this is all "libtard" stuff and how stupid it is, and I don't really want to be part of that, I guess. What can be upsetting about these protests is that people are doing the opposite of what they want to happen, like using plastic water bottles and littering. However in truth it is nearly impossible to go up against corporate America or corporate anything and somehow rid it of corruption and greed. It's nice to raise awareness but it might not do much of anything in the end. The only reason why I support the prevention of climate change is because it has the potential to be an existential threat and admit it, nature is beautiful, and maybe we should try a little harder to protect it. Plants take in carbon dioxide, which will help reduce carbon in the atmosphere. Maybe I really am stupid, but in reality I'm just sticking to what I believe in while at the same time just trying to wrap my head around it. Sometimes I even feel like I was just born in this time purposefully so I could just watch everything around me die. I live in NY and I feel like it's kind of depressing over here, but when I get to go to Pennsylvania or some other place where there's a lot of nature I feel a lot better; I don't understand that if nature has a positive impact on one's state of mind why someone would be so destined to destroy it simply so they can sit in a building and gain profit. Personally I would hate to have to watch everything around me die, wouldn't you? That's why I feel the way I do. Try to place yourself in my shoes, and maybe you can understand? Or maybe I'm just insane? Can someone please help clear this up?
