Love the idea that this dopamine reset will help with binge eating. I'm curious if the increased cortisol that comes with fasting inhibits dopamine at all?

Lack of $ is a great dopamine fast- you see how insane it is to consume (which is done many times mindlessly) and instead find contentment in a simple life

I still remember a day in my life sitting around and feeling very bored. No phone, pc, internet, nothing interesting on TV and nobody to hang out together either. There was a book on my table. As if it had all been planned beforehand. I unwillingly opened a random page and started reading. Since then on, reading became one of my favorite past time. Later I understood the benefits of getting bored time to time.

Fasting for 24h has helped my food dopamine hits. Makes me realize that I was using food as entertainment also, gah!

Very interesting. It's strange that I stop doing things to better my life that I see are becoming issues in my life and now it sounds like it's being called a dopamine fast. I stopped checking my phone at stop lights a few months ago because I think it is a dangerous habit. I think we should always be aware of our surroundings and you can not if you have your face in your phone.
I have also stopped snacking, trying to stop stress eating by taking some deep yoga breaths and getting myself out of the stressful situation and distract myself with a walk, or I drink some water with some sea salt so I dont do for that instant gratification of food. Also I have stopped buy stuff just because. It does not bring me happiness or joy.
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
These are just some of the changes I have been making besides working on positive thoughts and not negative thoughts and the info you have been sharing is so on point in my life.
I did IF before I knew it was called that to help with my gut issues I was having a year and a half ago.

Very interesting! I've been doing nothing but drive in my car for about 20 years now. I turned off the music and talk radio in my 30's because I just wanted peace and quiet (I'm a strong introvert) and I've never turned it back on. At stop lights, I just sit there and relax. It's nice. Hopefully this means my receptor sites are in good shape. I do feel joy in life but will pay attention to this going forward so I continue to do so. Great info!

I'm into my third week on a 24h one meal water fast. I'm new to this fasting but iv noticed my largest organ that I can see cleaned up I lost weight I experienced pain in various parts of body and brain thank you, DR Pelts, at the moment I'm watching as many videos as possible thank you. my DR is Daft

Few months back, I have started my journey to reduce depression medicine dependence by managing food and fast. This video is huge inspiration to go even at a faster pace. Next target, 24 hours and 48 hours dopa fast part of weekly/monthly routine.

I've done it here and there- its been a few years journey- motivated by sobriety and all levels of it- its very much like martial arts- self control is developed and life is more enjoyable as each level is cleared- im cyclical- every day is fresh but as I build new habits, old habits fall away with a dopamine fast- this may take a few days up to several months

I deactivated my fb acct 5 years ago and am on 0 social media. What I love, more than anything, if putting my phone on charge and leaving the house for a run. Now...O am listening to my ipod for music because I know I run further with it than without it, but yes. We need to "disconnect" more. The WSJ just came out today with an article how heart failure rates have skyrocketed and are staggering along with people who have to take meds on a regular basis. Everything can be controlled by diet. The best pharmacology, is no pharmacology. God bless!!! LA
