I was told by a teacher that I would never make it to college, I am studying mechanical engineering having a 4.0 right now

Update: I graduated this past spring with my bachelor's in mechanical engineering, an unexplainable feeling. If I can achieve one of my dreams anyone of you can!

I’ve lived with ADHD all my life. I would get in trouble in school all the time and my grades were poor. I felt stupid. It was so bad that I didn’t have the confidence to go to college after I graduated. I remember being 25 & working a dead-end job. During a lunch break, while in a book store, I overheard someone who was my age stated that he had just finished his MBA. That was the turning point. The next week I went and did research on top professions for people who have ADHD and it was Marketing.

At age 25, I went back to school and graduated with two degrees.

At 36, I now make a six-figure salary in marketing.

The two things I learned: age is just a number & ADHD is just an acronym.

My Story: When i was in 7th grade i would walk to school depressed. I was depressed because back in 3rd grade my mom told me that some day i would be very successful but now i was failing most of my classes and everyday i would walk into school and into class and when i enter everyone would laugh. Then when i speak when the teacher is talking she would give me dirty looks and said “You would never be successful” But now i’m a Architect making thousands a month living a luxurious life in my mansion in my pool looking up and saying “You never thought i’d make it teacher but LOOK AT ME NOW! Guys always stay strong no matter what.

As a teacher, you can NEVER put down a student for whatever reason... Your work, no matter what, is to support, encourage and love that human being because you don't know what he/she has been through and the potential he/she is able to demonstrate.

I have dyslexia. I have never struggled in school. I have learned to read and spell pretty good. New words are still hard to read fast, but that doesn't affect me negatively anymore, I'm used to it. If I didn't tell anyone I have dyslexia no one would notice, my teachers and my friends they didn't know. They didn't even believe me at when I said I had it at first. Everyone is different, dyslexia doesn't stop you. You just have to think differently, instead of letting my brain go crazy when I read I chose to ignore the letters around the letter I'm reading. That way I don't see wrong or read wrong. Still sometimes it happens that I jump over a word or letter, but it's ok. No one is perfect but everyone is good enough. We all just have to find our own strengths❤

My teacher said: “You won’t make it!”. 4 years later I came back to him as a millionaire living my best life and he didn’t know what to say he was frozen... there you see it prove them wrong!

I remember my senior year in High school I saw my teachers laughing would make fun of my work because I didn’t them right. They would also ask me “do you know how babies are made” that just tells me that they think I’m the dumbest girl in class. 7 years later I’m a successful wellness entrepreneur making 6 streams of income. Never lose hope people! Just because they said does things doesn’t mean it has to become your reality. 😭

I love how other people have no basis on who we can become and be. It’s all about what we think about ourselves. We can prove others wrong
