A story of two balls. I went into A&E with suspected torsion. Another guy came in an hour or two later than me with the same. They made us both wait 8-10 hours before surgery. Luckily for me, I just had inflammation. Meanwhile, he did have torsion and lost his testicle because we have idiots in the NHS that don't recall care unless the priority is head hanging off obvious.

If the pain isn't disabling, you can try doing hula-hoops or air thrusts until you are tired. Testicles will tend to orient themselves in the right way while free hanging in motion. And the exercise serves to increase bloodflow.

My son had this when he was a little guy. His doctor kept saying, how did you know? Something told me to get him to the hospital, I had fixed his favorite meal and he would not sit down. Emergency surgery. He had been out side jumping and running.

I had this when I was 14. At first it hurts just a bit and you dont worry to much about it. From time to time it gets worse and worse. I took everything off and eventually shoved a cooling pad down there (bad idea). I just tried everything to somehow handle the pain. Painkillers also didnt do shit. After an hour or so I called my dad off from work and told him how I felt. We rushed to a doctor. She looked at it and said: "Get to the emergency section in the hospital ASAP". During the testing i vomited due to the pain. At the hospital I vomited around 3 more times. When I heard that I would be put to sleep so that the operation can begin I was relieved. Just knowing that the pain was about to be over was such a relief. I got knocked out and woke up to both of my balls still being attached. That was a wild thursday and I wouldnt wish that to my worst enemy.

I had this when I was thirteen. Was a shy kid so I walked around in excruciating pain all day. The surgeon said I came very close to being a man down… well he didn’t use those words but you get the picture 😂

I lost a teste to this when I was 14. I remember being in excruciating pain that night, and didn't tell my family until late the next day. At the time, I hadn't really known it was from that place, but I knew something was seriously wrong. 2 days in, and the hospital finally got me in to surgery and by that time it was already too late. I still have the other one, but I feel terrible about it sometimes, not having the set for the rest of my life.

It’s easy to think testicles are free floating but they are anchored normally by the body to prevent this from happening. When muscles are relaxed or injured, or the male has a birth deformity, testicular torsion is more likely to occur due to relaxation, injury, or absent body structure called the Bell Clapper.

My uncle was rushed to the ER a few years back when he had a sharp testicular pain. The doctors first did this test because they were worried of testicular torsion, but as it turns out he had testicular cancer. After cancer treatments and surgery, he was left with one testicle, and by a miracle was able to conceive his one and only child with my aunt a couple years later. ❤
