(Edit: whoops, forgot to explain this in the video - the game genies are for putting in a code that uncaps the score beyond 999, 999 so there aren’t ties in competition.) Subtitles are now added in case anything was hard to hear over the noise of the convention! Thanks so much to the CTWC team, Chris Bidwell, Hal Hawkins, the judges, and everyone else who made this event possible. Special shoutout to BeastinShen who set up the stream layout in just a couple minutes after the normal CTWC livestream layout wasn't able to be located!

I don't understand how this ended up in my recommendations, but I watched the whole thing. Don't play Tetris. Don't want to play Tetris, but watching you guys have fun and be nice and wonderful to each other at a competitive level was amazing to see and worth the time. You guys are all definitely great ambassadors for your hobby and passions.

I like how nice everyone is to one another its heartwarming to see the good sportsmanship and smiles on everyone's face.

My favourite part about stumbling onto niche, extremely passionate competitive gaming scenes is not knowing what all their lingo means but knowing that it means so much to them. Library? Pole vault? Kill screen? People memeing in grands? I dig it.

Scout has gone full Tarantino with all of this bare feet footage.

This tournament was such a good time. Had I known it was happening again earlier, I would've gone back.

I don't even play Tetris, but I watch these videos anyway because you guys have such a great community.

This is so wholesome, im so used to creators doing over the top insane crazy shit, its very nice to just see people passionate about something come together with their community.

I just love the utter lack of ego in the Classic Tetris screen, especially among young players. Everyone is just playing for the love of the competition, there's no trash talking, everyone is supporting whoever has the chance to get the highest score, etc.

It's what ultimately makes sports worth watching: to always try to win, but first and foremost for the love of the game.

It’s so fascinating, I’ve never considered myself a Tetris person but I loved every minute of this video. It’s lovely watching all these people coming together for something they’re really passionate about. :’)

Used to work with this guy at Vitamin Shoppe and he told me about being ranked in Tetris. So happy for you my man and glad that you are still following your passion.

Man, seeing a bunch of youngsters playing a game that's even older than me is just so inspiring. No drama, no egos, just pure classic gaming.

Pure nostalgia. I represented Los Angeles in the 1990 Champion in the 12-17 category. Amazing to see how the young players have adapted/improved the game. Would not stand a chance against these players if they were teleported back to 1990.

Never played Tetris or looked into the community but after just 2 min I'm really happy to see what is going on. I wish everyone involved the best because it genuinely looks like a great group of people with a common hobby/passion in mind.

What a healthy e-sports. Everyone's enjoying, smiling, and encouraging each other. This is how all e-sports should be. So nice to see this kind of stuff.

These IRL events look like so much fun, I’d love for Modern/Guideline Tetris to reach the same level of mainstream appeal!

Watching e-sports tournaments for while this was so wholesome to watch. Everyone seemed respectful and smiling.

Man, this just makes me think of the culture and experience around large Magic Tournaments. I love that feeling and experience going to events and making jokes about the game as we play and even playing weird versions of the game on the side. Its that community experience that I love so much and im glad to see it is relatable between different games.

As a guy who remebers getting tetris on his NES, the Game Genie, AND getting a Game Boy JUST for tetris, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Thanks man, so cool to see young and old people playing a classic .
