2021 LDV D90 back country trip (Maxus D90/ MG Gloster) | Hanmer, South Island New Zealand

From Hanmer Springs in New Zealand I took the D90 for a trip up Jollies Pass into the Molesworth to have a go at some approach and departure angles. Due to the long wheel base the the runner boards, the ramp-over angle is not that great but the more I play the more I will understand the vehicles ability and limitations so I can confidently take the family on some 4WD excursions in the future. Unfortunately I will be needing a new front bash plate after taking some off on a rock.

Quick check in mate, here's what your videos have done for me - I've sold my mg HS and bought LDV D90! Will have 1 MG and 1 LDV in the family and on the channel now, will give you a massive shout-out in the first impressions video (have a couple already scheduled before) so will be in a couple of weeks! (Thank you, if not for your insights, I personally wouldn't have considered beyond that research I was doing for my brother in law a while back)

I had a look at this car the other day, while I was car shopping, it way bigger then I thought it. Too beast mode for me but it had a few good perks I like (like the big in the very back seats)
But it was nice to see you putting it to the test

You mentioned that the Ramp Over angle isn't very good, can you remove the Side Steps/Running Boards and brackets to improve the clearance a bit or are the brackets welded on?

Here in India we only have the diesel versions. Sold as the MG Gloster. So are they reliable? Ever faced any qualoty glitches? How's the engine and transmission going?

I’ve never driven in sand before. What mode should I have it in while driving on sand? Do I select 4WD and sand mode? Or? Thanks
