Mad, mad love for Brno from Vienna! We've visited it so many times and each visit is great. The food, the architecture, the different neighborhoods...it's an amazing place!

Brno is great. Much less touristy and scammy than Prague but just as beautiful and loaded with just as many cool things to see and do. Definitely an essential stop on a Czech trip. The bomb bunker was the coolest part for me.

Dobry den! I visited Prague for a short vacation trip a few days ago to get a feeling for the culture and the people, since I'm planning an exchange semester next year. Actually in Brno.
I loved Prague, but it was very touristy, so I'm really looking forward to Brno and a real dense Czech experience. Your video came right on time!

On my first visit to Czechia, I visited Brno before going to Praha. I too loved the town. It's much smaller than Praha, and very easy to get around. It is very hilly, so have some very good shoes for walking. There is a ton of history in that area. One of Napoleon's most famous battles was fought nearby. Take a trek up the hill to the local castle for some amazing views. I didn't make it to the underground yet, but that is a definite on my next visit. It's known as a college town, and the population drops a bit when the university is not in session. Also, see if you can figure out how to actually read the local astronomical clock. My biggest regret about visiting Brno, I did not allow enough time in the city before I had to move on to Praha.

I love Brno. I went there and there was pretty much zero tourists, amazing locals, food is so much better than Praha. I love the city and would return in a heartbeat. Close by is the Punkva cave. Incredible place, worth checking out. Two places to check out is V Melounovém, cukru, an incredible place to grab a coffee and cake. Stopkova Plzeňská Pivnice is my favorite place to get duck and dumplings. More food than you could ever ask for, great atmosphere and just one of my favorite places in the world. Come to Brno. It's where I feel at home

Sooo.. there are maybe 5 channels I subscribe to that I never miss a video. And The Honest Guide is one of them. I will probably never visit there, even though I would love to. But there is something about the feel of their videos that I enjoy. I also like learning about other places, cultures, etc.. but I love their style and learning all obout Prague and anywhere else these 2 may travel. Thank you for years of entertainment. Very much appreciated.

I'm from London and my wife's from just outside Brno. I regularly travel there, at least once a year, but I kind of see it as I see London - the place I go to get stuff. After watching this, I am going to spend a bit more time looking around rather than just getting shopping and heading home. I guess it's easy to take for granted that which is familiar to you.

Hats down. Thank you. We are taking holidays for Easter 2024. Coming to Berlin for 1 night to see war stuff, then 5 days in Dresden with family, and then 2 nights in Praha for beer and free transport. But after seeing this we might give a day to Brno as well. Some adventure this will be. Thank you again.

Great video, but still, all the things you missed! Špilberk castle, the Capuchin crypts, Villa Stiassni, and Prýgl, the reservoir... Brno is an amazing city with so many things to see and do!

I LOVE Brno! I visited for the first time in the early 2000s and have returned many times.
It is a delightful little city, full of personality and we have always found very nice and interesting people.
Also, I found the artistic scene very lively and unique.
I have a lovely memory of a charming museum guide at Moravské zemské museum, a lady whom we afterwards met at a theatre soirée (by the way, Brno has a fantastic classical music scene) and she introduced us to all her lady friends bragging about the Italian couple she showed around! 🥰

I could think of lots of places, but I will recommend two:
Rebio Velký Špalíček - it's a bio vegetarian restaurant (they have also other restaurants in town), food is delicious and the prices incredible (you pay by the weight) for bio food.

The other one is Pegas, a small brewery which has also some rooms (those I didn't try). Beer is really good, as is the food. And the place has a lot of character.
I hope I can return soon, I miss Brno a lot!

I'm just back from Karlovy Vary and it's an awesome city to behold and we had just great weather and a cool relaxing atmosphere. Also there was an UNESCO party thingy and I was able to discover some amazing czech rock and jazz artists (I didn't understand anything they were singing but the crowd was awesome). We have Brno on our next-to-visit-list for next year, really looking forward to it. Greetings from Germany 🍻

This was just awesome….We have 10 days at the end of August and certainly don’t want to spend it all in Prague….so you helped me greatly! Thanks again.

A few places I liked a lot in Brno (all have super nice people working):
1. Barčelato for gelato -- north at the Husitska red line tram stop.
2. Nett's BBQ -- a few blocks north of Barčelato.
3. Poppy Beans Coffee -- near Pionýrská red line tram stop.
4. Mymika for espresso -- a bit north of The Sea (big new fountain).
5. Vom Fass for vinegar -- it's a chain, but the fruit vinegars on the market veggies are fab.
6. Štrúdlárna Brno -- fabulous tvaroh and strudels and jams made by owner.
7. Monogram Espresso Bar -- superb mocha and small but great selection of beans.
8. Matějovo pekařstvi -- store with great yogurt, + a honey store with raspberry+honey mix to die for.
9. Mama Stella -- bakery with good everything but superb cinnamon rolls that always sell out fast.
