I used to watch Rio as a kid, it was my favorite movie and still is! I used to sing the songs in Rio all the time.. So hearing the songs again really bring me back :)

I never was in Brazil, but my grandmother was there tons of times so she always tells me stories of how beautiful Rio really is. I personaly love Brazil’s coulture and their way of living. I find this song really powerful, the best from this story and the best part of the song is when Jewel starts to sing. 😊

I always think of Amity and Luz from The Owl House, when I hear Jewel’s part of this song and I think about that one part in Thanks To Them, where the kids come back to The Boiling Isles after being in the human realm for a while, when Amity dances with the slime in the air and Luz smiling at her while walking next to Camila, her mom. 😘
I have seen many amazing edits on this song with the exact same scene in Thanks To Them, that’s why I said I always think of Lumity while listening to this song.

i am latino but asian who shares similar values, culture, food, even some of our words with Portuguese and Español but the first time i saw Rio as a 10 year old kid, i keep coming back to the carnaval scene and just can’t believe how one nation unites specially during a happy time like that and MOST especially during FIFA season 😢 i want to vacation to brazil soon and visit a gorgeous island while watching the moon by the ocean and experience the carnival! i love 🇧🇷
