It’s been a few years since I actually watched Initial D. Yet, this soundtrack somehow manages to pop into my memory from time and time again. The anime is old now, but I have to admit, looking back to the time when my father first introduced me to the anime, it still holds a place in my heart to this day. Can’t say it’s my favourite, but it definitely has changed the way I look at the world today in some way.

Initial D and cars itself was among the many things he and I had a deep connection and bond between us. He meant so dearly to me, we were spitting images of one another. He had a burning passion for everything he cared for and loved. He loves his games, he loves his futbol, he loves his ethnicity, he loves his fashion, he loves his music, he loves his cars, he loves his family, he loved me. Everything of his was a part of mine. This song reminds me of the good times of what I once had, and what I have now lost. With him gone I have felt absolute devastation, it's like everything of me was torn apart. He no longer loves me, but I can love him from afar. I can feel his love through the common connections we had, that is as close as I will ever get to feeling the love he had once given me. My admiration is still here for him, that will never change.
