"Money and the Democratic machine took center stage in two marque Illinois primary contests on Tuesday night.

Blue Dog Democrat Rep. Dan Lipinski managed to hold back a primary challenge from progressive activist Marie Newman in the 3rd Congressional District with the help of the powerful Chicago unions that make up the Democratic get-out-the-vote machine.

And the governor’s race is on track to be one of the most expensive in history thanks to the two multi-millionaire candidates who won their primaries with the help of their private war chests.

Finally, in a landmark year for female candidates, the Illinois House primaries seems, thus far, to be following the national trend.

Here's are some of the results in the Illinois primary races."

This is just the start, Rome wasn't built in a day and this is a long fight we're in. We will lose a few seats and gain some, but we must continue fighting. They won because even though it was dirty fighting, they went the extra mile and won.

As I said from the very beginning the Justice Democrats formed, even if you don't win them all, if you only win a handful of primaries and knock of a few senators, that is going to send a huge message to the establishment... that they are not safe.

Don’t let it get to you. There will be disappointing nights but keep pushing forward. Don’t forget about your victories in Texas, it will spread in time

Illinois primaries = major morning-after depression and waiting to move. Really a time full of despair. Wondering when the hell we will ever break this wheel.

It amazes me that conservatives will vote for a Republican who’s bought by corporations over a progressive who doesn’t take corporate money

Disappointed in my state. Not sure why we think one of the richest men in America can represent the working class. He'd do better for our state simply by donating his billions to state charities and staying out of politics. Oh well, at least we'll be the next state to have legal weed🌱💨

Fools. We get the government we deserve. Always cry that politicians don't support the people but then turn around and vote for the candidate that takes the most special interest money.. Come on! Start voting them out. Vote for the unknown and the one that takes the least!!
