It really behaves a lot like the NES one from what I'm seeing. That's cool. The only thing that I see as a weird design idea is the parallax background mushrooms. Watching this, it was really difficult from time to time to tell what was background and what was platform.
Thanks Ten for sharing this, I'll definitely keep an eye on this project and give it a try.
