The Turkish aviation industry is advancing with small but increasingly solid steps for now. The problem is that we didn't actually do all this 30-40 years ago. Foreigners and younger ones, of course, do not know the past. The main reason for Turkey's late participation in the race in the military industry, especially in aviation, is the strategy of NATO and the USA to keep some countries they have chosen as targets dependent on it for their own interests.
Over the years, they have ensured that these projects are stopped by creating bribery, threats or domestic disturbances in every step of Turkey's independence in military resources. In the last 60 years, Turkey has made various attempts to build its own aircraft, warship and tank, and this has been prevented each time.
Although NATO stubbornly does not want to admit it in the hot war cycle Turkey is in, Turkey had to end its dependence on foreign resources at all costs to ensure its own security.
Today, the Turkish army has its own crypto communication systems, its own digital warfare software, its own ammunition, and it is being developed every day.
According to an analysis published in the WSJ a few days ago, Turkey supplies 30% of its army's needs domestically 20 years ago, while today it supplies more than 70%. I don't like WSJ because of false and purposeful anti-Turkish news, but they rarely write the truth.
The latest treachery of the USA, which forced Turkey to make a choice due to its deliberate removal from the F35 program, which the Turkish air force intends to use as the main combat aircraft, shows that we have reached an irreversible point in our relations.
After the cancellation of the program, which included the Air Force, which was involved in the program to use F35s until TFX, the USA, which wants to condition the F16 program, should know that this is the reason why Turkey may possibly choose Russian aircraft.
