Blood just makes punches and blows much more impactful for the viewer

Blood is absolutely necessary to set the contrast of the violent fights and the evil villains with the rest of the series in which everyone is having fun.
All of the goriest moments in Dragon Ball were either important to add to the tension or served to set up a bigger evil that was coming, and it worked flawlessly. You never felt like anyone was actually in danger in the Super anime, but the manga has a completely different vibe just due to this change

You don’t need to have it be excessive, but if you use it wisely it can be the “this just got real” moment cues

I think it’s the thing that sets it apart and the thought process ig is once they go into the domain of the gods everyone is so amazingly strong that it’s kinda one of those fights where no serious damage is being dealt because the second one person gets one good hit in the power gap would be crazy

Yes, we need WAAAY MORE blood in dragon ball. My BIGGEST problem with Super was the lack of it. None of the fights felt impactful whatsoever, and nothing felt like it really hurt. That, and they no longer do that camera shake anymore whenever someone deals a devastating strike or blow, which I utterly hated. Completely takes away from all immersion of the battles, which is everything in Dragon Ball.
