Housemarque are an old skool developer who made some awesome amiga games back in the day.

How pleased I was when I got Super Stardust HD on my PS3, which they followed up with the excellent Dead Nation.

Looks to me they have scored again with Resigun. Smiley faces all round...

After seeing this game, I really hope that Konami takes note and develop Gradius 6 for this generation. That would be like the best thing ever, in terms of shmups.

He has great taste in games. He passes up the AAA games to play a smaller title because it offers more than most AAA games. I wish more developers would go back to the "High Score" days when getting a great score was the reason we keep playing that game, now we spend $60 to finish a 6 hour story mode and then the developers release DLC so you can spend MORE money just to have a reason to play it again. We shouldn't need to spend more money just for a reason to play a game we already paid for once more, we should have everything we want the first time around.

Very few people know Defender... am so glad to have been one of the fortunate in my generation to have played this on a ColecoVision. Ah, the nostalgia.

Another favourite of mine was Venture... I know, sure, there are RPGs with superior graphics... but that Vron really scared the crap outta us then!

I played this for a dozen hours before even touching my boxed games.

I love this game, played it for at least 20 hours, I got a high score of 33 million... the devs say if you manage to get to 10 million, your doing good! Its all about that multiplier.. I also found that if you throw humans to the rescue point you get more points! This is one of them games where everytime you play it, you find a new technique, a new intricacy. I can honestly see myself still playing this in the year 2020.. its so replayable. You either 'get it' or you just don't understand the mind-set, this is old school arcade shooting action at its finest.. honestly, I think this is the best game of its kind.

This looks totally awesome, and is something that might make me get a PS4 sooner (I don't really buy consoles on release) rather than later. This is the sort of game I like playing!
And in this new age of shoot em ups very promising indeed.

This title is from the makers of another great series of games for the PS3 and the Vita : Super Stardust, which i highly recommend if you like twin stick shooters : very fun addictive game. I'm really looking forward for Resogun.

Using the R stick to shoot is ok, but after playing Deathsmiles I actually found using one button to shoot left and another for right just feels better than moving and holding the stick one way and then back the other.

DEFENDER was a very revolutionary game back then in the 80s, I believe RESOGUN makes justice to it's legacy.

I absolutely love Resogun. I'm terrible at it but I just keep going back to it.
