We are to endure hardships even if we are suffering at the hands of others. We are to crucify the flesh that wants to rear up in the face of suffering wrongfully.

1 Pet. 2:19 "For this is acceptable, if for conscience toward God a man endureth griefs, suffering wrongfully."

It's alright if you endure griefs, suffering wrongfully. God says this is acceptable.

1 Pet. 2:20 "For what glory is it, if, when ye sin, and are buffeted for it, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye shall take it patiently, this is acceptable with God."

God wants us to suffer for it and take it patiently.

1 Pet. 2:21 "For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:"

There are a lot of Christians who are demanding their rights but Jesus said if you don't take up your cross and follow Him you cannot be His disciple. (Mark 8:34)

1Pet. 2:22-23 "who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:"

We commit ourselves unto God. He wants us to let the old man die, to crucify our flesh, and not let it rise up to defend ourselves.
