S Jaishankar To Travel To Pak, Last Foreign Minister Visit Was In 2015 | English News | News18

India on Friday announced that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will travel to Pakistan to attend a conclave of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in mid-October.

The announcement was made by external affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.

The last Indian external affairs minister to visit Pakistan was Sushma Swaraj. She had travelled to Islamabad in December 2015 to attend a conference on Afghanistan.

Pakistan is hosting the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting on October 15 and 16.

"The external affairs minister will lead our delegation to Pakistan to participate in the SCO summit which will be held in Islamabad on October 15 and 16," Mr Jaiswal said at his weekly media briefing.

Boycott this for the following reasons:

Precious jawan lives are still being lost.

Kashmir is still being brought up at every UN council meeting undermining India's seat permanency.

Safety reasons. Pakistan security simply cannot be trusted.

Pakistan is an enemy of Israel and highlighted India's support to Israel trying to damage our reputation.

Not one leader has mentioned forgetting the past and moving towards normalisation of ties.

Hafeez Sayed and co. They need to be extradited.

Pakistan governance is two-faced. One face is ISI and the other is radicalized lunacy.

This is why you shouldn't get career civil servants to dictate policy by elevating theme to Ministerial positions. Their DNA is steeped in Babuism that they lose sight of best interests of the nation. We need a stronger spine! The times have come to call out the wimpishness of the current foreign minister! Brema is correct. An action orientation is not there. The SCO doesn't serve any purpose to further Bharat's interest

I get the point that Mr Sibal has made but If this is okay then how will we defend about reviving SAARC which Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan are demanding now. With wat reason will India defend this and does it also mean India will be allowing the cricket team to Pakistan. If that is the case then wat was the reason for all this grandstanding for all these 10 plus years.
