About 10 to 20 percent of new mothers develop postpartum depression (PPD). Some experts believe this number is even higher because many women don't seek treatment.

In this video, Jessica Walker (Jawspeaksdigital) from Black Women's Birthing Jusitce, talks about her experience with PPD and how she used music to cope.

I wish we, as a society, made it easier, healthier and more welcoming for women to talk about this more and share their stories about PPD. Our minds and bodies go through so much in such a relatively short time. If you feel something is wrong or not quite right after you give birth please talk to your doctor or a trusted medical professional who can be there for you and help you. You’re not alone.

Thank you for sharing your journey. I haven't had my baby yet...due March 2021. However, I'm going to listen to my body and use your tools to cope and address PPD head one should I experience it...but I hope not 😅 . You're a beautiful black woman. God bless you and your family.
