I found it much easier to use the complex button: 2nd → π
To convert from polar to rectangular, use the mode button to set calculator to 'a + bi' then use the complex button to enter your polar form number.
To convert from rectangular to polar, use the mode button to set calculator to 'r angle Θ' then type in your rectangular form number. 'i' is the same button as π.

You can also change the mode from Real to Polar (r angle theta on 4th row) then type in 3 + 4i and press enter. It's much faster this way as it gives you both the radius and theta. If you want rectangular just change the mode to rectangular (a +bi)

Thumbs up for you. Thumbs down to Texas Instruments for making it take so many steps on this calculator.

hi I am just trying to do this operation in my calculator. Multiply 3 exp (j 30o) by 1 + 3j. I have the same calculator. I get a data type error always when I want to perform this operation. Please let me know.

I think you instructed the viewer to set radians and the result you show is in degrees, causing a little confusion. Great video though!

That is an insensible choice given a multi-line display.
