Love it or hate it, this novelty song was a smash #1 hit in the summer of 1975 here in Britain. "Typically Tropical" were actually two white guys, Jeff Calvert and Max West, who were sound engineers at Trojan Records.

I like it Victor. I do not remember this one. When this was released in 1975, I was on Okinawa. I don't think this song was played on the American "Armed Forces Radio Network", but should have been, since we were on an ISLAND too. I'm sure Barbados was nicer than Okinawa, which was hot and high humidity, plus a deadly snake called a "Habu"
