My friend passed tragically young. She had my old Uggs because they were in very good shape and I had received a new pair in a size that fit better. We buried her with my new ones. Her aunt agreed it’s what she would’ve wanted. They were a fashion item but also a status symbol she didn’t get new. I’d been saving for a pair for her for Christmas. I wasn’t able to wear Uggs again until recently. But honestly her being buried in full 2009 hot Cheeto girl gear is iconic as hell and when I finally pass, I fully expect to be called old and gross while she stayed cool

I never wore them out in public, but I still have my tall Uggs, which were a Christmas gift in 1999! The turn 25 this year! I’ve had them repaired once and they’ve had new insoles twice.
