This is a cool feature if you're broke and definitely has some neat subfeatures to it. However, it definitely limits you. I noticed this a few days after using it. It'd be cool if they added a feature to change the base note to something other than C and change the key of the scales. I finally just broke down and bought a MIDI keyboard. For anyone who's on a low budget with their music production, the alesis vmini is selling for about 50 bucks (a little more with tax) and has all the basic features you need as well as 4 drum pads. It also comes with a pretty neat plugin that has over 2000 sounds. From the little bit of research I did, this midi keyboard has the highest ratings out of all the budget ones, even the $50 akai midi controller had more complaints then this one which kind of shocked me as akai seems to be a pretty good brand. I have not used it yet as I just ordered it so I'm just speaking based on reviews.
