I'm not sure if you know this or not, but on 1:42 he actually says BUTTER BROTS, it's not a misheard. This word got to Russian language from German in 1700-1800s. We also have the word "sandwich" borrowed from English, but we use it for "usual" sandwiches, and butterbrot is for open sandwiches (and Russians usually eat open ones) and sometimes for all kinds of them.
