Koenigsegg Jesko Attack: 1578bhp vs TG Track! | Stig Laps

Stig Laps are back!

That’s right, The Stig is once again roaming free at Dunsfold, and in this new eight-part series we’ve gathered, well, eight cars of course, to set new timed Power Laps at the Top Gear Test Track.

Up first is the Koenigsegg Jesko Attack. It’s the slower-in-a-straight-line variation of the Jesko, as the Absolut version is wingless and faster flat-out. Yet that’s good here, because this Attack version boasts up to 1400kg of downforce, and with 1578bhp as well, that makes it a very tasty track weapon indeed.

However, can it get near the current road-legal lap record holder, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, which blitzed around in 1 min 11.3 seconds?

For the record : a Koenigsegg statement said at the time that the main reason why the CCX crashed was that the manually adjustable suspension was setup for another track (not enough time given to change it) and that the "Top gear wing" was already part of the options list and not created on the suggestion of Top gear. That wing was also far too small to give any significant downforce at the speeds of the TG track. The wing was still included on the return visit with and together with a better setup produced a lap record.

Wow..i wish we had a look at the speedo too, he must've been reaching scary speeds. The car reaches braking zones so quick, i can't begin to imagine how hard it accelerates..what a machine

Love this idea for a series but I really aren't a fan of the camera angles chosen for the lap itself. I don't think you NEED to replicate the old angles from the show, but I think a few stationary shots (like at Follow Through for example) would add some variety to the lap and really show how fast the car is going. Drone shots (although cool in their own right) should be kept to a minimum too imo cus they have the effect of making the car look really slow from so far away. A drone shot would be really cool above Hammerhead tho cus how the car reacts to the turn is what's important there, not speed. You probably have a load of these recorded already but it's something to bare in mind for the future! :D

It's quite apparent that the Stig was babying it around the track and still managed to be nearly as fast as the track only cars on slick tires. Simply amazing

Thank you for doing this, but something about this video felt off to me. If I could offer some constructive feedback:

The "Stig Lap" portion of this video (04:06-06:11) felt very unevenly edited. It was disorienting to see shaky camera footage from afar paired with onboard engine noises and then random cuts back to Jack. Please try and keep it a consistent POV, where the car is the undisputed star of the show and you could clearly follow Stig's attempt to wrestle with it and Jack's commentary on top. Noise from the camera's POV might add to the theatre of it all as well, but the onboard noises are great too.
