ATING ALAY (Hangad)

This liturgical Mass song in Filipino was composed by Fr. Arnel Aquino, SJ & chorally arranged by Mr. William Caimol. This is appropriately sung during the Offertorium (Presentation of the Gifts/Preparation of the Altar). The Liturgy of the Eucharist begins with the Preparation of the bread and wine into the altar. This is where we see the first Eucharistic action of Christ, which is taking the 2 species and offering them into the Sacred Altar. They in turn will become his real Body and Blood, and will become our spiritual nourishment in Holy Communion.
