I just learned the hard way on my F150. I didn’t know that there was a trap door beneath the trap door at the top of the filler neck. I had injector cleaner all over the side of the truck 🤪 Thanks for the info. Just bought one.

!!You can't add crap on a 2011 Ford edge and possibly other models, the gas neck trap it's solid and it can only be pushed super hard with the gas pump nozzle! I've learned it the hard way 👈

Maseratis come with a filler like this by the spare tire in the trunk. Not sure about ford and others but I know Maserati has them.

Yeh.. im here because the Diesel stp ran down the tire beneath the fuel cap. I thought u could just push it inside, which clearly didnt work for me xD

I didn't feel like waiting so I squeezed the neck of the bottle and made it wider - horizontally. Wide enough to hit the release clips.

The capless gas fill. They are absolutely terrible. After a recent rain I opened the fuel door and observed water pooled on top of the trap door. I had to blot it out with a dry paper towel trying not to push against the trap door. There is no telling how much water has penetrated the trap door.

i have 2009 ford fiesta and i put fuel treatment in amd it was pouring out underneath i didnt use a funnel judt the bottle

It isn't that the funnel is long, the critical dimension is that the neck of the funnel is the same diameter as a standard fuel pump.

The capless tanks have two cam latches which the pump filler pushes to the sides, which then allows the actual cap to open. One CAN open the flap with a pair of screwdrivers to push the latches aside -- and I have done that -- by the cheater funnel is WAAAY easier, and doesn't require three hands. ;-)

BTW -- according to the manual on my Ford Transit, the vehicle is actually supposed to come with the funnel, but that have a way of 'growing feet'.
