Angela Bassett slaaayed the hell out of this movie. She literally made me see Tina Turner and not just an actress portraying her. I am just baffled at how she never won an Oscar for her life like portrayal! This is by far the greatest biopic of all time.

The sister's shocked look and eventual little dance behind the bar, the body language and look on Ike's face when he realizes how good Anna Mae is, the laughing drunks at the bar, all add up to a fantastic scene in a great movie. Loved it.

This scene is so addictive. Cant stop watching it. She started off shy but round about the second verse she started feeling her self. Cut to the incomparable Ms. Phyllis Yvonne Stickney looking like “I didn’t even know baby sis could blow like that...” When she tossed the mic to the other hand and wailed into it...cut to Laurence/Ike looking at his band member like who is this?!... I stopped even thinking about the Oscars when they shaded this film. Such masterful acting and they wouldn’t even give them a nod...😒
