I find my employees are more efficient when given lunch and liquids.

When it’s your own business and you love what you do, 12 hours straight is a normal shift. Your pops was just thinking about money and I respect that lol

We started up the shop cutting wild game at 6a.m. none of us had experience and was expected to cut 5 elk a day, we worked 6 days a week at 63-68 hr week. I quickly burnt out on being a butcher

Thanks for exposing why beef has skyrocketed in price.
Lower output from the middlemen.
How much was a pound of hamburger in those days compared to today and fairly adjusted for inflation?

To us this is Heaven. To a vegetarian this is a horror movie that will follow them for life

Yet another reason we don’t need government inspectors in the first place. We trust you guys because of who YOU are, not because of some worthless government stamp.

Not so sure about the 4- 4 day. That’s stretching it. Worked in a slaughterhouse for 20 years as for crawling under sides that’s a bit much too. You have to get thru to grade the meat and USDA. Absolutely need them to keep plant sanitary. These guys would have to shave there beards They must be thinking of how slaughterhouse were run in 1930 or 1940
Ours was a privately owned slaughterhouse 100 cattle a day. Kosher sold select choice and prime beef
