I used perfect pitch to "cheat" in a college music class. We were supposed to study and listen to a composer's pieces over the weekend so we could identify them on a listening quiz. The problem was, that composer named each of these pieces in their collection after the key of the piece, e.g. "Etude in A minor" and there was only one of each. Therefore anyone with perfect pitch could ace it without studying

So that's why my teacher implemented 'no noise of any kind' rule in my class. I wasn't aware of this concept of perfect pitch back in high school, but my class had a whole group of very talented music students. Maybe this rule was meant for them XD.
