The commentators hating on him, you could tell he tried to hold up his throw at the top of his release.

for anyone who doesn't understand what happened: blanco forgot the game situation and just assumed there was a runner on third. this is why the throw was made to home instead of third.

they're not hating on him, that's duane kuiper, one of the giants' local commentators. i watched it live; if the MLB uploaded more of the video he would have said that the reason blanco did it was that he wanted to get it out of his hand as fast as possible to keep the runner on third base from going home. the runner doesn't pay attention to how he throws it, just the fact that he throws it, and since he got it out of his hand so early, he prevented a play at the plate and a possible run.

the giants are not high on blanco. so there is some hating going on... blanco is a solid player though, and had some big hits in last year's run.
