Stunning novelty; courageous, dark grooves thrusting with guitar / horn arrangements voiced for tyranny one moment and sweetness the next. Absolutely fascinating use of dynamics and abrupt, but pleasing, modulations to recenter the listener. Someone in these comments mentioned Zappa.... for sure; similar in the spirit of bold, non-conformity and practiced execution. However, I think a closer style match would famous film composer Danny Elfman's band, Oingo Boingo (era before 1984). It's a good feeling seeing one of Lucy's songs with 535k Spotify listens!
