World's Best Convenience Store? (7-Eleven in Thailand)

It’s funny because where I grew up (Arizona), I never thought of 7-Eleven being a desirable place to visit. The only reason I'd ever go to 7-Eleven is to fill up my gas tank and/or get a slurpee.

But in Thailand (and many Asian countries), 7-Eleven takes on a completely new meaning. It’s your one-stop shop for anything and everything you can think of. 7-Eleven is pretty much the World's Best convenience store in the history of mankind.

Inside 7-Eleven, you can find (literally) thousands of unique food and beverage options — but even beyond that, 7-Eleven is a place where you can pay your phone & internet bills, schedule mail for pick up, purchase sporting event tickets and grab all of your toiletries and cosmetics.

Thailand alone has over 11,000 7-Eleven locations (the second-most behind Japan) and it does 500 billion Baht ($15B USD) in revenue a year. It's hard to explain how incredible this store is unless you've been to Thailand (or Asia) and experienced it for yourself.

What are your thoughts on 7-Eleven? Does anyone else agree with me?

FYI this video is NOT sponsored. I have zero contact at 7-Eleven and wouldn't even know how to get in touch with them. I already see many people making inaccurate judgements that I "got paid" to make this video, etc — and it just makes me laugh inside!! Why can't I make a video about a place that I truly love? Honestly speaking, this video is a sequel to the 7-Eleven video I made about a year ago in Japan. The only difference is this one is a lot more cinematic (thanks, Michael!) and I added more context to the story. As always, thanks for watching my videos!

7E in Thailand is just different. Even for Malaysian like me, I would cross border to Thailand just to visit their 7E. So many things selling for very cheap price with good quality tasty product

It was really a life saver for me once I visited Pattaya. I was terribly suffering from loose motion so one of my friends bought for me a yogurt and pineapple taste like snacks. These two things helped me to recover from my temporary illness. Besides, we drank coffee every two hours intervals wherever we were in Thailand during our last year visit. I miss so much 7-Eleven.

Hey! I grew up in Arizona too! (Back here for now). I lived in Japan for 5 years. Thailand was always going to be my next country, but I got married(rock on) and my traveling days ended. One day I'll get to go. So excited to find out they have 7-11's there like Japan!

I was in thailand just a week ago. I have been to Bangkok, Nongkhai and Udon Thani., I totally agree with you, 7-elevens are everywhere, it's 24/7, super cheap, and they have great&delicous goods and products. I don't know why I love to go to 7-11 multiple times a day, It's more than just a convenience store.

I spent the last 3 months in Thailand and I have been all over the country, but 7-Eleven was always there for my needs. Whether it was the only source of food in the middle of nowhere or just the next stop to pickup a drink. I fucking love it. In bigger cities you don't search for 7 eleven you just walk straight ahead and after few steps gone you'll find one. Totally missing them in Germany, especially the opening times (24/7).

i saw some 7-11s have thai desserts from very famous shops too! you normally have to queue up to purchase the desserts if you go to those shops directly. it's amazing the way they operate 7-11 in thailand.

The lays chips designs are actually quite genius
You can read both in Thai and English and it'll both read out as Lays
