An April 16th 2013 open university lecture entitled "Human Chemical Thermodynamics: Goethe's Elective Affinities to Human Free Energies", at Northern Illinois University, given by American electrochemical engineer Libb Thims to the students and faculty—primarily mechanical engineering thermodynamics students—per invited of NIU mechanical engineering thermodynamics professor Milivoje Kostic, on a general introduction to the subject of thermodynamics applied to the humanities.
