As soon as I heard this song for the first time on GTK I grabbed my acoustic guitar and sounded out the chords. I performed it hundreds of times at every coffee shop and cafe gig for years before I joined a busy band playing hard Rock and Blues. But Gypsy Queen has remained one of my all-time favourite songs. I still turn it up when it comes on in the car! Thanks so much for posting it on Youtube.🙂

Kerryn Tolhurst on the mandolin lived down the street from me for quite a few years. He's a nice bloke and a very humble Hall Of Fame Aussie musician.

A true classic. Had almost forgotten about it till I heard it used in the film "The December Boys"

Excellent song, never realised it was a Aussie song until this year. Poor drummer looks like he had a bad night last night. He could fall asleep or throw up any minute. 😊 RIP Mr. Quill and any others from this group.

This has always been one of my favourite Australian recordings.
For this film clip: Cameras always pointed at the action, switched at exactly the right time. Well done!
In the era, it was very rare for the crew to have been present at rehearsal. Usually they tried to react to instrumental changes.
