I had such a blast Scotty bringing you my x5. It was so much fun getting to talk to you and watch you make the video. Scotty really is a down to earth guy . He’s the same in person as he his on camera.

Scotty is like everyone's Grandpa. Calls everyone stupid in their absence but when you go meet them, he gives you a hug and says you are all right.

Losing the air conditioning compressor between 40K and 80K for a car this expensive is NON-EXCUSABLE!

We’ve had our 2015 X5 for 10 years since new. ZERO mechanical issues with consistent maintenance, and timely upkeep. Sometimes it’s not the cars that’s a piece of crap, it’s the owners who can’t afford to sustain them.

I bought an X5 with the inline 6 and the M Sport package. MSRP in 2016 was $75, 000. Picked it up CPO after a lease with only 17, 455 miles on her. My wife loves it and she's not even into cars. The engine and trans are silky smooth. That said, I have a great independent BMW (Bimmers R Us) shop who are a lot like Scotty. It's ok to be high maintenance if you're high performance. LOL

I'm a retired mechanic. I bought a BMW because I thought it was cool looking. I piled parts into that thing endlessly. I finally gave it away. That was the best move I made regarding a BMW.

1000 percent agree. By far the worst purchase I ever made. Glad to be rid of that headache.

Nice and true video, I had 3 BMW’s and all had issues at low miles. Finally learned my lesson and went with Lexus

I would still buy an inline 6 X5 even after this video. Towing capacity is almost 6, 000-7, 000 pounds, depending on the year. And they have no rust in the winter. And I need infrared to detect deer on the roadway. Long live the X5 SUV! Do what makes you happy.

A good friend of mine was a BMW dealer ( at the time) and he loved these thing cause THEY always COME BACK! He stated they always get to drop a bunch of cash repairing them!

Some people buy the US built BMWs because they think it will be cheaper to maintain. That is simply not true. These are very complicated cars that can easily breakdown and it will cost you a fortune to get it fixed!!! As Scotty said it so well:Bring My Wallet (BMW). That was perfect!!! 😂😂😂😂

I've bought used bmws for the past 15 years...very good cars. No major problems with any of them.

I really feel the pain bwm mechanics have to go through explaining why that piece of plastic is worth more than gold.

videos like this make you feel better for owning a cheaper and more reliable car 😊

People taking them back to BMW is why the costs are so high. Brand new replacement compressor is less than $200 bucks. Have a local shop install and charge and it’s no more expensive than a Toyota Camry. I’ve owned everything with wheels and our BMW has been as good as anything.

BMWs are definitely a love & hate relationship. My first was a new 2012 528i and to date I’ve spent approximately 12k in repairs. It now has 130k miles on it. Still drives like the day I bought it. My recent is a 2023 X5. I test drove various makes before I purchased it, but return to BMW. IMO nothing compared, they got me again!

Had a 2007 Saab 9-3 4 door. What a fun great car. Drove until 2018 dealer maintained. No major problems. Only blew a head light bulb often. Easy change out myself. Thought about getting BMW many times, but plastic components scared me off. Finally just got a Honda. Thanks Scotty for the heads up.😊

I live in Europe, I had 6 bmw (530d e39, 530i e39, 330ci e46, 328i e36, 430i, 530d F10), I just had problems with the 530d e39 coz it was very high mileage and tuned pretty badly, all the others were great cars, never had any major problems with it, regular maintenance.. Very reliable for me

I had one of these for 140k miles. Never had a Problem. It was a perfect family car. Since my wife was the one driving it I didn’t want her to have to change a flat tire. I just went with run flat. I once scanned my car. Everything was working fine. I got 80 codes. They were like: rear seat heating defect (mine had no rear seat heating) and so one. Just ignore them. If the car gives you a significant code on the I drive display, then deal with it. Still miss my x5. 😢
